This app records a piano melody you are playing, and automatically recognizes its music notes in real-time. It visualizes the music notes as the piano roll / bar-graph score to illustrate the pitches, strengths, intervals, and rhythms. This app helps piano players better understand the essential music elements and enjoy the beauty of music via the advanced piano pitch detection and visualization technology. It is your piano mate!

Usage:

Simply put your iPad on your piano, and launch this app. Press the recording button and start playing your piano. The notes you played on the piano will be simultaneously shown on the iPad screen as the piano rolls.

This app is great for piano players to practice single hand notes. Through the recorded piano rolls image, you can easily observe whether you were playing the right piano notes at the right time with right strength. Students can also record their teachers’ playing and study their skills based on the piano rolls image. Moreover, this app can be used to assist ear training for pitch and rhythms.

Please note that this app requires either an acoustic or digital piano. The app works great for single note detection at any given time, and is sensitive for the piano keys ranging from C3 to B5. It utilizes the iPad’s internal microphone, and therefore does not require any cable or additional device to hook up with your piano.
